Illustrator - Shapes, Tools, Mannequin and Fills

Unit 34 Illustrator - Shapes, fill and tools.

Getting used to the pen tool on illustrator, different types of pens to use to create different shapes.

Creating simple shapes just using a straight line to help me understand illustrator and the tools we use.

The black and white arrow selects and deselects so the shapes can be moved around the page if needed. when the shape is highlighted blue it means the image is ready to be moved.

This is the same image as above but moved on the page using the white arrow.

Also using the arrow to select you can change the size of the shape to fit the page using the scale tool.

Again using the pen tool you can create curves using a tool in the pen tool called anchor point pen tool.

Something a little more subtle, starting to get used to controlling the anchor point pen tool, using it correctly helps create softer curves.

After playing about the with pen tool i started understanding the tool more and scaled the shapes i had created using the scale tool, then moving them back on to the sheet, leaving me with this page.

Selecting a certain image on the page and opening the colour picker by double clicking on the white box in the tools column will change the colour of the selected image.

The selected image is now been filled with a colour, the white box is now green which shows that my selected image has been filled.

I have moved this of the page to see which parts of the image will be filled.

I have now pressed no fill (arrow is hovering over, white box with a red line going across it) this means there is no fill on the picture and the image no longer has a background and cant be filled with colour.

This is what it will look like with no fill on the image. The larger white box is saying there is no fill as it has the red line going across it.

I have taken the 'fill (X)' off so the image can be filled with colour.

I did filled another shape using the same tools. Then i selected the last shape which is the subtle curve and moved it off the sheet itself to show the image has a background and i repeated the same method as the one above.

No fill.

All shapes are completed 3 with a fill and one without.

Fashion Illustration - Mannequin

Using a normal, simple mannequin from google images, i drew around it to create the shape of the figure to get an even figure when i create the designs. Again using the pen tool.
